'This ones Grenade free'

The NYPD, New York Police Department, is the largest police force in the United States, similar to the UK they all have different responsibilities. Sirens are heard constantly, their large megaphones are heard of the crowds and they can be found on nearly every corner even more over the holiday season.
At subway stations, (which are much less strict than those in London; you can jump the barriers, go under the barriers, enter through the emergency exits, etc etc!!) the NYPD have set up plastic tables for 'Random bag searches'... Sam with his rucksack (there not so interested in the Hello Kitty one of mine) always gets asked to put his bag down whilst they have a look...this morning however we must have found a very humorous set of police, who after glancing through Sam's bag of dance clothes exclaimed to his mate that 'This one is Grenade Free!' God knows what he would have done if Sam was carrying a grenade...!!


The NYPD always seem to come in groups of three or four, complete with MACE(a stronger Pepper spray), A pistol, a baton, their walky talky's and....their donuts. People may laugh at the Simpsons with Chief Wiggum always scoffing donuts, but we have rarely seen a police officer here without some kind of snack...its even funnier when you see them in the line at Dunkin Donuts or sitting in a pizza bar!

With all this aside, New York remains the safest Big City in the US, with crime on the decline!
