NYE!

With 1,000,000 people heading to Times Square NYC, (1quarter of a million at the Thames, London)...

And having to queue from 9am for a good spot... we decided NOT to go...lol!

Instead we headed to the small piano bar on 46th where we went on Xmas Eve (taxied down the back streets and 11th ave to get us there) and saw the New Year in with a very Thespian crowd. (Including their regulars, complete with sheet music, and the grand age of 90!) With singing wait staff (who were amazingly good), bar snacks,Disaranno (for Rosina) and champers at midnight! We had a lovely night, watched the ball drop on a TV, saw a bit of the fireworks and casually sat next to Dawn French....

YES...the Vicar of Dibley, French and Saunders, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY!!!

Leaving after the masses had departed Times Square (probably to find a toilet!) a cab was $20 to even get in let alone the fare, so we caught the Subway home. A very good night and recommended to anyone who loves a bit of Theatre...however the people next to us who left after 20minutes from Manchester who were not used to Gay men, musical theatre songs and tambourines absolutely hated it!

Happy New Year!
