Our last official day of School!

The foreigners call BDC School so lets go with that! Today was our last day as an ISVP student, of course we will be back at the studio next week and in years to come, but today we finished our 6month program, stamping off our last class on our final weekly 12 class card! Physically it wasn't any different, as they have students stopping and starting new all the time, so the classes just continue as normal!

So we thought that we would break down some of our favourite classes for you guys at home to see what we get up too! These are just the regular teachers, guest teachers and masterclasses are a different story. You can Youtube any of the below and it will come up with lots of videos!

These are just the classes we've taken over the last 6months that suit our levels, although there are hundreds more!
HipHop/Commercial

Jermaine Brown - Choreographer for big concerts worldwide, 'concert' style, visibly interesting, top 10 tracks.
Jared Jenkins - Groove and Intricate, a great class with lots of energy. Prepare to sweat!
Neil Schwarz - Intricate, and very hard, musical,  uses own mixes and underground artists!
Future- Teaches waving and house
Princess Lockeroo- Teaches Waacking
Benny Ninja- Teaches Vogueing
Rhapsody- Big big choreographer, barely ever in, always has cover, but if she's there take her, if not take Jared!
Luam - Choreographer for Beyonce, amazing class, great choreo, but be ready to share the studio with 70 others!!
La Jon - Definitely not for the under 18's, tough lesson, no messing around for La Jon!
Joanna - A unique style, very hard!
Jamie - Brillant at teaching, everyone must use their SemiDemi! At 6ft5 Jamie uses his!

Contemporary/Jazz
Michelle Barber - Lyrical jazz, great across the floors, intense speed of choreography recognition! Until you get used to her intense change of weight, you are always 3 beats behind!!

Shelia Barker- Modern, World Jazz, Old School and prepare to sweat!
Dana Foglia- Brilliant dancer, also teaches heels, hard hitting, body twisting contemporary!
Chris Hale - the best class at BDC, mixture of gyro-tonics and classical ballet contemporary. Chris is a great teacher and such a laugh!

Calen Kurka - Hales partner. A slightly different class, focusing on feeling and telling of the story. His warmup is a beast!
Derek Mitchell- A very late class, 9-10.30pm, and very physically demanding. Its all about the stretching!
Brice Mousett- Fantastic French choreographer, a very unique class including the perfect french accent, prepare to be bruised and not be able to walk tomorrow! (Rosina is currently suffering from this!)
Tracie Stanfield- Leaps and Turns, fab class for perfecting that technique. Tracey also teaches lyrical classes, but if you don't like lots of back bends don't go!
Mishay Petronelli- A hiphop contemporary blend, very trendy!
Sue Samuels- Beginner Broadway. Means beginner, don't take it unless your over 60!

Ballet
Dorit Koppel - Ex Ballerina, takes all the other ballet classes at BDC before teaching her own, a long barre but focussing on technique.
Matthew Powell- The perfect level, Spritley young ballet dancer, with the most perfect technique you have ever seen!
Natalya Stavro - Ex Russian Ballerina, Hard love from the Russians! prepare to do Petit battement on releve for about a hour.
Dawn Hillen- Teaches pop ballet, completely mad!
Jack Hertzog - The hardest class ever, steps that we have never even seen before, yet this does not stop the 10 OAP's turning up!
David Howard- Brillant teacher, old school, David is about 85, teaches sitting down, and standing up to set the exercises holding the barre. He can be very rude, but hes allowed 'Go to the back dear, go to the back, B. A . C . K go back!' , 'I think you should take tap lessons to get some rhythm' 'You always watch the best dancer in the room, and that isn't you by the way'
Andrez Silantyev- Stavro's husband, funny man, teaches basic and beginner. although its not exactly for the beginner!
David Hochman - More of a technician and scientist that a dancer!

Tap
Ray Hesselink- Wheres a head set and teaches 'classic' tap!
Jared Grimes - The hardest rhythm tap ever, be prepared to improvise! no music!

Theatre
Al Blackstone- Brilliant theatre class with lots of technique and an across the floor! Als a professional, and lots of 'theatre' dancers come to his class, as a warmup before doing shows on broadway!
David Marquez- Pretty intense, although Old school, warmup to Lion King, will take his trousers off and dance in his hot pants, hard style to get!

Other!?
Amber Paul- Yoga, but more of a dancer based pilates stretch class! Nice for the aching muscles, not so 'yogafied' mind you!
Linda Fit TM- Pilates, has her own dvd and pilates syllabus, takes the ballet classes at BDC.
Kurt Robinson- Vocal coach to the stars, such as Lady Gaga, sings recent songs, but you just sing along to the track!
Bettina Sheppard- Classical MT singing, prepare to sing 'Don't rain on my parade'!
Ricky Tripp - Teaches floor barre, but doesn't fit that stereotype! Cool dude, works in the industry so has dear old Colleen cover him!

What we have noticed the most about teachers here, although they are very set in there own class plans and the classes are similar from week to week, they are always in other peoples classes, taking class!! You see them in Yoga, Hip-hop teachers taking contemporary, all of them in Ballet, hip-hop teachers in more hip-hop classes Thats a big thing here, taking class, that makes you a pro, not so much the job your booking unlike London, where it seems its perfectly fine to never to take class, although your in a West end job. Always keep learning, or how boring would life get!!
